Stone Soup Sandwich-Making This Sunday (May 24)
The fourth Sunday of the month is coming up -- May 24 -- and that means we'll be making sandwiches for Bethesda House right after worship. The church will provide the bread. The rest is up to us. There are three ways to support this long-time ministry of EPUMC. (1) Donate deli meat and cheese. They can be left in the cooler in the Narthex before worship. (2) Put a buck or two in the green mission bucket that will be in the narthex. These funds are used to purchase the bread as well as gloves, baggies, and tablecloths. (3) Best of all, after worship, head to the narthex to whoop it up and make 200 sandwiches for Bethesda House in 20 minutes or less. It's a fun way to have fellowship and meet new folks. EVERYONE is welcome to participate! No experience necessary!
Outreach Activity: Regional Food Bank (May 30)
The next opportunity to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank will be Saturday, May 30 from 1:00-3:00 PM. There is a sign-up sheet in the hallway outside the narthex. The Food Bank is located at 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham NY 12110. Contact Brenda Morrow if you have questions.
Outreach Activity: Blessing Bags (until May 31)
- personal hygiene items
- toiletries (hotel or travel size)
- hard candy
- granola bars
- juice boxes
There is a bin in the Mission Bin Area for donations. If you prefer to donate money toward this project, place your donation (checks made out to EPUMC) in an envelope marked Blessing Bags and put it in the offering plate or the church office. We will shop for you!
We will assemble the blessing bags on May 31 in the Outreach Room at 11:00 AM.
